Vitis ‘Worden’ – Blue Seeded Grape – 2-Gallon

An open-pollinated seedling of ‘Concord’ that is excellent for fresh eating, juice and jelly. ‘Worden’ is one the best grapes to try if you want to grow grapes organically because it is practically immune to insects and diseases – much more so than ‘Concord’ which is particularly susceptible to our worst grape disease, black rot. ‘Worden’ produces larger and darker fruit than ‘Concord’, ripens about 2 weeks earlier, in early to mid-September, is more cold-hardy (zone 4, so you can grow Worden anywhere in the Catskills) and yields about the same as ‘Concord’.
