Mentha arvensis – Wild Mint – 2-Gallon

$18.00

One of the best native pollinator plants, just be careful where you place it – like almost all mints Wild Mint is an aggressive spreader that will be impossible to remove from an area once you’ve placed it. The Xerces Society classifies Wild Mint as being of “special value to native bees” for the large number of bees it can feed. Wild Mint occurs throughout most of North America and, in fact, a good portion of the Northern Hemisphere. It tends to be found in quite moist locations like marshes, wet thickets, and stream banks, but will tolerate a little bit drier soils in the garden. Of course this species is culinary as well with a reasonably strong minty flavor, though usually with a slight bitterness.
