Salix interior – Sandbar Willow – 3-Quart

$24.00

Willows are one of the most important native plants for wildlife – they support bees, butterflies, moths, birds, turtles, and small and large mammals. Like most willows, Sandbar Willow likes moist soils and can be found in a wide variety of habitats including shrub swamps, borders of ponds and slow-moving rivers, gravel bars and sandbars, lake shore beaches, marshes, streams and stream edges (sometimes in fast moving shallow water). It can help control soil erosion but also can become a little weedy so site it carefully. It’s not native to the Catskills but is found throughout most of northern and western New York State.
