Picea mariana ‘Nana’ – Dwarf Black Spruce – 1-Quart

$29.00

Black Spruce is common in the vast boreal forest (Taiga) that stretches from Alaska across Canada to Newfoundland, but in our area is only found at high elevation bogs in the Catskills. ’Nana’ is a slow-growing dwarf cultivar that forms a dense, rounded, hassock-shaped mound. It’s grown for its colorful evergreen foliage, interesting shape, texture and small size. It typically grows at the rate of only one inch per year. Attractive blue-green to gray-green needles are about 1/2″ long. This variety is often mistakenly labeled P. glauca ‘Echiniformis’ in the nursery trade.
