Arisaema triphyllum – Jack-in-the-Pulpit – 1-Pint

A favorite plant of all wildflower enthusiasts. The unusual flower consists of a showy, hooded spathe (the pulpit) that encloses the spadix (Jack), along which either male or female flowers, sometimes both, are arrayed. The spathe is light green in color – in many individuals, such as the one shown here, the inside is boldly striped in burgundy. Bright red fruits that develop along the spathe brighten the woodland garden in Fall. Grow with other shade-loving woodlanders such as Foamflower, Wild Ginger, Blue Cohosh, and Baneberry.
