Clematis montana ‘Mayleen’ – Mountain Clematis (Non-native)

Gardeners love Clematis, but many are difficult to grow, being subject to various diseases, the most prominent being clematis wilt caused by the fungus (Ascochyta clematidina) – large-flowered types are particularly susceptible. We offer Mountain Clematis, even though it’s not native, because of its resistance to disease,  vigorous growth and prolific bloom. And despite being non-native the flowers are attractive to bees.

‘Mayleen’ has small satin pink open flowers and bronze foliage with strongly scented flowers.
