Deparia acrostichoides – Silvery Glade Fern – 2-Quart

$10.00

An easy-to-grow fern from cool, moist mountain ravines over most of the eastern portion of North America including the Catskills. It’s basically a clump-former although the rhizome does creep slowly and the plant will eventually form  a colony. Silvery in the common name refers to the color of the sori (spore-producing structures on the underside of the fronds) which start out silvery-green, then turn to silver before maturing to a blue-gray color. Silvery Spleenwort prefers slightly acidic to circumneutral soils and will benefit from a yearly dusting with lime on highly acidic soils.
