Echinacea Pixie Meadowbrite™ – Coneflower – 1-Quart

$6.00

In cedar glades and dry rocky hills of only a few counties around Nashville, Tennessee grows a diminutive coneflower, the Tennessee Coneflower (E. tennesseensis). It was listed as an Endangered Species for many years, only removed from the Federal List in 2011 based on successful conservation efforts. The species has not only bounced back in the wild, it’s been used in a breeding program at the Chicago Botanic Garden. Crosses with E. angustifolia and E. purpurea have resulted in Pixie Meadowbrite™ – the hybrid retains the small stature and upturned ray florets of Tennessee Coneflower, but it’s a much more vigorous and easy to grow plant. It still benefits from good drainage.
