‘Blue Mist’ is the first cultivar of Dwarf Fothergilla to have frosty blue-green foliage in summer, though fall color tends to be a bit more muted than is typical for the species.

Description

A magnificent small shrub that offers superb flowers and foliage. White, honey-scented flowers occur in 1- to 2-inch long bottle-brush like inflorescences. Over a long period of time in fall the foliage takes on a cacophony of color: shades of apricot, orange, maroon, and crimson appear, often together in the same leaf. Prefers a moist, well-drained, acidic soil. An excellent choice for foundation plantings.
