Helianthus angustifolius ‘Autumn Gold’ – Narrowleaf or Swamp Sunflower – 5-Pint

$12.00

This Sunflower produces dark-eyed yellow daisies in profusion – they often smother the foliage in a blaze of bright color. The long, narrow leaves are dark green and glossy and have ornamental value as well. Usually the last of the perennial Sunflowers to bloom – in our zone plant in as sunny a spot as possible so that you get a long show of flowers before frost hits. Does not spread as aggressively as most other Sunflowers.

Description

The tag from the grower says Helianthus salicifolius. This is a misidentification which the horticultural industry has been doing for years and years. The plants are definitely H. angustifolius. We offer the true H. salicifolius as well and you can see the differences in the foliage. H. salicifiolius has longer, more wispy foliage than H. angustifolius.
