Nymphaea ‘Fabiola’ – Large Water Lily

Is this Marliac variety from 1913 the most prolific flowerer amongst the hardy lilies? Perhaps. And it’s one of the first varieties to bloom in late Spring. Not with a flower or two, but with 5 or more flowers right from the start when other varieties have 2 or 3 at the most. It does tail off as Spring turns to Summer. The flower is a pale pink bicolor that ages to a slightly deeper pink. The form is a bit loose and floppy, not its most appealing trait, but for sheer flower power ‘Fabiola’ is tough to beat.
