Opuntia ‘Mulberry Creek’ – Prickly Pear Cactus – 3-Quart

$13.00

This showy prickly pear cactus came to us as a selection of Opuntia humifusa – it clearly is not that species, but we’re not cactus experts so we’re not sure exactly which species it’s derived from – perhaps it’s a hybrid. It’s survived in the herb garden at the front of our house (along with a pile of snow from the road most winters) so we consider it rock solid reliable in our area – just don’t plant it in a swamp or a spot where it will be overwhelmed and shaded by neighbors. Every year we take a few pads from our plant and root them over the late summer for sale the following year. Like most Opuntia it’s quite easy to propagate, just slow.
