Penstemon smallii – Small’s Beardtongue – 1-Quart

$7.00

Probably the showiest of the eastern species of Beardtongue. The pink flowers have a white throat with contrasting dark and white stripes – these serve as nectar guides for the native bees that pollinate the flowers. Butterflies and hummingbirds are also likely to visit the flowers for a sip of nectar. Like many species in the genus, individual plants are short-lived. Allow them to seed around the garden – they generally find the spot that suits them best!
