Rhododendron prinophyllum – Roseshell Azalea – 1-Quart

$12.00

The most common azalea in the Catskills. Many assume that any pink azalea blooming in the spring in our area is Pinxterbloom (R. periclymenoides). But Roseshell Azalea is the more likely occurrence. Its flowers are a deeper pink than Pinxterbloom and they have a considerably stronger fragrance. Primarily a species of slightly open, dry, acidic, oak dominated forests but also somewhat frequent on hummocks in swamps – we have one growing on a swamp hummock on our property.
