Symphyotrichum oolentangiense – Sky Blue Aster – 5-Pint

$12.00

An adaptable species that is common in midwestern prairies but endangered in New York State. The only state records are for Niagara, Oneida and Suffolk counties. Despite the common name, the flower color really isn’t the deep blue usually associated with the sky on a clear fall day, it’s more of a strong blue-violet. Nevertheless, with an inflorescence that is relatively large for the size of the plant this is a showy species for a sunny border or meadow. Self-sows aggressively.
