Symphyotrichum urophyllum – Arrowleaf Aster – 1-Quart

$6.00

A very unique-looking aster that is rare in horticulture. It showed up in a crack between the stones of a patio at the front of our house one year. Not sure where it came from though it is native to Ulster County and seeds could have blown in from a neighboring old field, the species preferred habitat. It’s an upright grower that combines well with another late summer bloomer shown here, Tall Garden Phlox (Phlox paniculata). The flowers are white and are attractive to a pretty good array of native pollinators that get both nectar and pollen from the flowers. Arrowleaf Aster sometimes is listed under the name Aster sagittifolius in older wildflower guides.
