Tree Swallow House

Tree swallows are cavity nesters just like bluebirds. In fact they will compete with bluebirds for next boxes even though bluebird houses are a bit small for them. Though the same size as bluebirds, they tend to have more nestlings in a clutch and those nestlings can get overheated in the small confines of a bluebird box. Interestingly, western and mountain bluebirds also have larger clutch sizes than our eastern bluebirds and houses designed for them are larger. We thought, why not offer western bluebird houses for tree swallows, and we now recommend placing one nearby any bluebird box you’ve put out. Though we can’t guarantee the birds will choose the boxes they’re supposed to!

Comes with a mounting pole already installed. Take the 4′ rebar, drive it 2′ into the ground. Drop the conduit that the house is mounted on over the rebar. Secure with the coupling screw at the bottom of the conduit to prevent the house from dropping into the ground. Done!
