Symphoricarpos orbiculatus – Coralberry or Indian Currant – 2-Gallon

$29.00

Grown primarily for its spectacular display of fruits in fall. Based on the plant name the fruits should be coral in color, but, to our eye, they are closer to magenta. All members of this genus (we also carry Snowberry, S. albus; and hybrids Magical™ Avalanche, Magical™ Treausre, ‘Hancock’ and Candy®) are tough shrubs that can handle poor, dry soils. However, they will put on the best display when given some TLC. Over time they can look a bit untidy – a hard pruning every few years will keep them in bounds. The berries remain ornamental into the winter but eventually will be eaten by birds.
