Clematis ochroleuca – Curlyheads

A non-vining species native from Maryland to Georgia, most abundant throughout the state of Virginia. Interestingly, there are numerous historical records from locations around New York City, particularly Staten Island, but the species is extirpated in New York. We have it growing in one of our gardens and have collected seed – it’s somewhere in the production stage, so at this point priceless.
