Allium canadense var. lavendulare – Showy Wild Garlic – 1-Quart

$6.00

This form of wild garlic produces a complete umbel of flowers, making it a much more ornamental plant than its cousin, Wild Garlic (A. canadense var. canadense). It’s from the western portion of the plant’s range, occurring from Illinois to South Dakota south to Oklahoma and Arkansas. The leaves are strongly flavored and can be used like chives. The bulb is edible like an onion and another name for the plant is Wild Onion. The bulb is covered with a dense network of criss-cross fibers, a trait unique to this species. Like most Alliums, Showy Wild Garlic is deer resistant.
