Cladrastis kentukea – Yellowwood

$79.00$355.00

A rare tree, both in it’s wild haunts, the southern Appalachians, and gardens. It shouldn’t be rare in gardens because the large clusters of white, wisteria-like flowers that dangle profusely from branch tips make Yellowwood one of the most beautiful of North American trees. To maximize flowering, plant in full sun – even then the tree may not flower each and every year. We often also carry the cultivar ‘Perkin’s Pink’ with, you guessed it, pink flowers. Fall color, shown here, is a bright, golden yellow. Bark is a smooth gray – similar to American Beech.
