Coreopsis palustris ‘Summer Sunshine’ – Beadle’s Tickseed

Indigenous to swamp edges in only a few scattered locations in the southeast, this plant is slowly becoming a horticultural star, garnering the highest rating in Mt. Cuba Center’s Coreopsis Trials. Bright clear yellow flowers with dark centers really grab your attention and they appear quite late in the year – think of this as the Fall extension for the multitude of Summer-blooming Tickseeds that are so important in the flower garden. ‘Summer Sunshine’ has turned out to be superior to the straight species for it’s long-lasting bloom time and disease resistance.
