Crataegus phaenopyrum – Washington Hawthorn – 5-Gallon

$79.00

One of the best hawthornes for home landscapes – it’s foliage is very disease resistant and tends to remain on the tree into the Fall, while some other hawthornes prematurely drop foliage due to disease. It has heavy crops of large red fruit that are ornamental and also help feed birds. Strictly speaking, it’s not native to our area. In the wild it’s found from Pennsylvania to Illinois south to Missouri and Florida. It performs great in our area though and is probably the most widely planted hawthorne in the Northeast.
