Crataegus viridis – Green Hawthorne – 2-Gallon

$34.00

A species of broad southern river bottomlands and coastal plains that can be grown successfully throughout the Catskills. Among a genus of outstanding ornamental fruiting trees this might be the most impressive. It doesn’t bear fruit every year, but in good years no winter display of any other tree is more brilliant. The fruits are persistent and retain their substance and color until early spring unless discovered by flocks of hungry cedar waxwings. Finally, the tree has attractive exfoliating bark and good resistance to foliar diseases.
