Darmera peltata – Indian Rhubarb, Umbrella Plant

$13.00$17.00

A fantastic plant from mountain streamsides of southwestern Oregon to northwestern California with huge parasol like leaves that form a bold and spectacular dome of foliage. Leaves can be a foot in diameter. Rounded clusters of bright pink flowers emerge before the leaves on 2-3’ stems. Despite its western origin, Umbrella Plant is cold hardy in our area – it’s grown for years near the outlet of our pond. In moist, cool locations it will spread slowly via a creeping rhizome. Another name for the plant is Indian Rhubarb.
