Description

Rose family (Rosaceae)

The cheerful flowers of these compact shrubs provide continuous color from sum-mer to autumn. Individual varieties come in different colors, mostly white, yellow or pink, and, more recently, shades of orange. Shrubby Cinquefoil adapts to a variety of landscaping situations – it performs best on moist, circumneutral soils (not too acidic or alkaline) but tolerates poor, dry soils once established. Avoid excessively hot spots – this shrub is found in boreal or alpine locations in the wild and doesn’t tolerate too much heat. Benefits from a yearly dusting with lime and a light pruning.

Formerly in the genus Potentilla
