Eurybia ×herveyi ‘Twilight’- Hervey’s Aster

$5.00$12.00

An unusual plant – it’s a naturally occurring hybrid between Showy Aster, E. spectabilis and Bigleaf Aster, E. macrophylla.  It’s found in Massachusetts, New Jersey and New York including right here in Ulster County, where it is considered a rare inhabitant of open woods. ‘Twilight’ has large, 1” wide, lavender flower heads inherited from the Showy Aster parent and an early bloom season for an aster, inherited from the other parent, Bigleaf Aster. Useful as a large-scale ground cover because of its vigorous rhizomatous growth habit and large basal rosettes of green foliage.
