Geum rivale – Water Avens – 5-Pint

$11.00

A great plant for damp to wet areas. It forms spreading rosettes of highly textured foliage above which rise interesting sprays of peach-colored flowers surrounded by reddish-purple calyxes – they aren’t as colorful or showy as hybrid varieties from European species, but they provide both nectar and pollen for bumblebees. This plant is sometimes named Purple Avens – it’s a cool climate plant, rarely occurring south of our northern tier of states, from New England, most of New York to Wisconsin and Minnesota. Also in the West from Washington State, southward only in the Rocky Mountains.
