Liatris cylindricea – Cylindric Blazing Star – 1.25-Quart

$6.00

One of a group of smaller Blazing Stars that are more useful in the rock garden or toward the front of the perennial border than their bigger cousins. Like all Blazing Stars it’s very attractive to butterflies especially Monarchs. Cylindric Blazing Star hails from the midwest, reaching western New York at the limit of its range. It resents poorly drained soils, especially in the winter and prefers but does not require a more alkaline soil. The species has been growing well on the green roof on top of our potting pavilion.
