Liatris spicata ‘Kobold’- Dwarf Blazing Star

A dwarf form of Dense Blazing Star better suited to the front of a perennial border or rock garden than the species. ‘Kobold’ was selected in Germany (the german word “kobold” translates to elf or sprite) for compact size. It was originally a seed strain, and some reversion toward full size plants has taken place in some lines. There is also a clonally propagated form ‘Kobold Original’ that hews close to the original cultivar size and which we often have available for sale.
