Lonicera flava – Yellow Honeysuckle – 3-Quart

$24.00

A twining, deciduous woody vine with tubular, lightly fragrant, yellowish orange flowers in whorls at the ends of stems. Round, fleshy, orange to red berries appear in late summer. Hummingbirds and butterflies are attracted to the nectar produced by the flowers while birds and small mammals eat the fruit. Yellow Honeysuckle is a southern species, most common in the southern Appalachians and Ozark Mountains. Our plants are from Missouri and should be cold hardy through most of our area. It is similar to the more northern Hairy Honeysuckle, L. hirsuta, but with a little bit larger flowers – some consider this the most beautiful of the native honeysuckles.
