Magnolia tripetala – Umbrella Magnolia – 7-Gallon

$105.00

The hardiest of the bigleaf group of Magnolias – it can probably be grown throughout the Catskills, although a site protected from winds is essential. This tree’s name comes from the umbrella-like clusters of 12-30” leaves at the ends of branches. Unlike the lemony-fragrant flowers of other Magnolias this tree’s 6-10” showy flowers are somewhat malodorous. So grow it away from the house as a specimen tree in full sun and moist soil or as an understory tree.
