Nymphaea ‘Fuchsia Pom Pom’ – Large Water Lily

A Tony Moore introduction and 1st place hardy waterlily winner at the 2013 IWGS New Waterlily Competition. Polypetalous varieties all seem to produce fewer flowers than more wild-type lilies, perhaps because most are likely descended from the first polypetalous variety, Marliac’s ‘Gloire du Temple sur Lot,’ which seldom produced more than 2 or 3 flowers over the course of an entire Summer for us. Floriferousness in polypetalous varieties seems to be gradually improving however and we have replaced the older ‘Lily Pons’ in our collection with ‘Fuchsia Pom Pom’ – they are similar-looking but the latter has better flower production.
