Panicum virgatum – Switchgrass – 1.25 Quart

$7.00

A characteristic grass of midwestern Tallgrass Prairies that also occurs in New York, primarily along the sandy shores of Long Island but also in moist locations in Ulster County. Primarily a clump forming grass, the airy panicles of flowers are its main ornamental feature. It’s effective either as a specimen or en masse and is generally sturdy enough to stand up to winter snows and remain ornamental into early spring. You can provide food for winter flocks of birds by planting grasses – just don’t cut them back until early spring.
