Forms a low mound of ferny foliage topped with loose sprays of light blue bell-shaped flowers (to 3/4″ wide). Pinnately compound leaves with oval leaflets are arranged like the rungs of a ladder (hence the common name). Sometimes called Greek Valerian. Ideal for edging a shady border or growing beside a woodland path. Freely self-seeds in optimum growing conditions.
