Rhododendron ‘My Mary’ – Deciduous Azalea – 5-Gallon

$95.00

Introduced by George Beasley of Georgia who named this showy azalea after his wife. ‘My Mary’ is a cross of ‘Nacoochee’ and Southern Orange Azalea (R. austrinum). ’Nacoochee’ is a hybrid with Coast Azalea (R. atlanticum) and Pinxterbloom (R. periclymenoides) in its parentage. Pinxterbloom brings cold hardiness to the cross and ‘My Mary,’ despite its largely southern origins, has been growing and flowering prolifically in our “birdhouse garden” for many, many years. The light yellow flowers with orange-red tubes have a wonderful fragrance, inherited from both Coast Azalea and Southern Orange Azalea.
