Rhus typhina ‘Dissecta’ – Cut-leaf Staghorn Sumac – 5-Gallon

$89.00

An elegant form of Staghorn Sumac with fern-like leaves, bold architectural form and all of the positive features of Staghorn Sumac along with some of its bad ones. The positive features include a tough-as-nails disposition, drought tolerance, pest resistance, spectacular fall color, and fuzzy, cranberry-like fruits that are a favorite of birds in winter. The real challenge of this plant is its size and growth habit. It spreads laterally by vigorous suckering, forming dense multi-stemmed thickets. It’s an impressive plant to build a garden around, or as a specimen in an open area, but can be difficult to incorporate into an existing garden.
