Rosa virginiana – Virginia Rose – 2-Gallon

$29.00

One of the more handsome native roses. The single pink flowers are fragrant, about 2-2.5” in diameter and borne singly or 2 or 3 together. They are attractive to a wide variety of native bees and honey bees. The foliage in summer is an excellent glossy dark green. In fall, it turns first to purple then orange-red, crimson and yellow. The fruits are a bright glistening red and persist into winter before being taken by birds. The canes are reddish with many paired prickles and are attractive in winter. Can be used as an effective barrier or low hedge.
