Salvia officinalis – Garden Sage

Garden Sage is the classic flavor of Thanksgiving, but the leaves can be used all year round in sauces, bean dishes, casseroles, poultry, pork, and sausage. Dry the leaves for year round use. It has a lovely fragrance and an ornamental purple flower.  It is a perennial in our area but you can also grow it in containers. Needs good drainage and the more sun the better.
