Symphyotrichum racemosum – Small White Aster – 1-Quart

$6.00

Similar to the more common Calico Aster (S. lateriflorum) but with more ray florets in each “flower” and disk florets that are brighter yellow changing to tawny gold, never the raspberry pink color that the disk flowers of Calico Aster develop as they age. Performs best at the woodland edge but will tolerate heavier shade or a fair bit of sun. Perhaps not as attractive to butterflies and beneficial insects as Calico Aster but still an excellent nectar plant. Our plants are derived by seed from plants growing in the woods around Catskilll Native Nursery.
