Tradescantia longipes – Wild Crocus – 1.25-Quart

A charming little plant from the Ozark Mountains of Missouri and Arkansas with low trailing leaves – it does not produce aerial flowering stems like most Spiderworts, instead flowering nearly at ground level. This is a great choice for a rock garden where it will form nice-size clumps over time. Foliage declines after flowering and should then be cut back almost to the ground to encourage new growth and a possible fall bloom. Rarely available – our plants are divisions from a plant obtained from Siskiyou Rare Plant Nursery decades ago.
