Tradescantia ohiensis – Tall Spiderwort – 1.25-Quart

As you can guess from the common name, this Spiderwort is more upright than others making it a good choice for the middle of a perennial border. The combination of blue-green foliage and light blue flowers makes it one of our favorites. Remember, all Spiderworts go dormant toward the end of summer after flowering. Surround them with plants that take the stage in the fall such as Asters, Goldenrods, Joe-Pye Weeds and Ironweeds. Like most spiderworts, an aggressive runner and self-sower which, depending on your perspective, makes it weedy or a great plant for naturalizing.
