Vaccinium angustifolium – Lowbush Blueberry – 1-Gallon

$24.00

Lowbush blueberry is a widespread species, growing from Labrador in Canada to Minnesota, south to North Carolina and Tennessee. It’s quite common throughout the Catskills though there are other species of low-growing blueberry, specifically Velvetleaf Blueberry (V. myrtilloides) and Hillside Blueberry (V. pallidum), so don’t assume any low-growing blueberry you see on your property or out hiking is Lowbush Blueberry.

Blueberries generally benefit from cross-pollination between different varieties, so make a planting in your garden of a few different varieties along with straight species plants like these and you’ll get lots of blueberries for pancakes! If you can beat the birds and chipmunks to them.
