Vaccinium corymbosum ‘Elizabeth’ – Highbush Blueberry – 1-Quart

$10.00

Named for Elizabeth Coleman White. Her family owned a large commercial cranberry bog in the New Jersey Pine Barrens and she collaborated with USDA Chief Botanist Frederick Coville in the early 1900s to develop the first superior varieties of highbush blueberries, many of which are still grown today by commercial growers and homeowners. Miss White was famous for choosing varieties for their authentic blueberry flavor. Crossing two of the best-tasting wild plants, White choose this plant as having the most flavorful and aromatic berry amongst all the offspring. Not commonly available here in the 21st century we’re happy to be able to offer this heirloom variety.
