Vaccinium corymbosum ‘Rubel’ – Highbush Blueberry – 1-Quart

In the early 1900s, Rubel was chosen from wild plants in the New Jersey Pine Barrens for its great flavor. Many of the newer varieties of blueberry, selected for size and productivity, have lost a little of the wild blueberry flavor that you can still get with ‘Rubel’. Moreover, modern testing has revealed that ‘Rubel’ berries have the highest level of healthful anti-oxidants of any variety. Their small to medium size makes them perfect for baking. Ripens mid to late season. Foliage takes on reddish tones in the fall.
