Vernonia noveboracensis ‘White Lightning’ – New York Ironweed

A white-flowered form of one of our most spectacular late summer wildflowers. Looks great mixed in with the purple of the straight species, the yellow of goldenrods and the violet-blue of asters in the Fall wildflower garden. This is a robust, tall plant with great vertical presence. It takes a couple of years to reach full size – so remember that the plant you are buying now will eventually be much bigger. Just like purple-flowered forms, this is a butterfly favorite.
