Viburnum lantanoides – Hobblebush – 1-Quart

$11.00

A common shrub at higher elevations of the Catskills but completely uncommon in the nursery trade because of slow seed germination and a glacial growth rate. Much like many species of hydrangea, the flower clusters are composed of an outer ring of showy, sterile flowers and an inner dome of fertile ones. The berries that follow first turn orange then blue-black just about the time the leaves become splashed with a psychedelic combination of gold and burgundy atop a lime green base. This woodland shrub demands a cool, moist, shady location.

We have ramped up our seed collection in order to meet demand, but seedlings are so slow growing we still only have small plants available this year (2024), perhaps a few inches high.
