Rhododendron ‘Lemon Drop’ – Deciduous Azalea

A number of hybrid azaleas have been produced by Weston Nurseries in Massachusetts using the native Swamp Azalea (Rhododendron viscosum) as a parent. These hybrids are usually summer bloomers with fragrant flowers but don’t require a swamp in which to grow. ‘Lemon Drop’ is upright growing with peach-pink buds that open to pale yellow flowers with a light lemon fragrance. Glossy green leaves turn dark pink-red and yellow in the Fall.
