Betula nigra Fox Valley® – Dwarf River Birch

$20.00$105.00

A dwarf form of River Birch that is perfectly sized for a small suburban plot or courtyard garden. Given sufficient time – it only grows about 6 inches per year – a mass planting will develop into a dense hedgerow – very useful for screening. River Birch is valued for its pinkish tan peeling bark and resistance to the bronze birch borer that kills European and Asian white birches. Despite the fact that it usually grows next to creeks and rivers in the wild, this tree will perform well on fairly dry sites if watered well until it establishes a deep root system.
