Cercis canadensis – Eastern Redbud

$29.00$195.00

Along with Flowering Dogwood and Silverbell, this is a spring-flowering, North American tree that no home landscape should be without. It can be used as a specimen tree in the front yard or naturalized in the woodland understory. Site the tree carefully – the gaudy rose-pink color of the flowers doesn’t work well with some spring wildflowers and shrubs – in particular avoid planting near trees with red foliage such as Japanese Maples and some Crabapples – the combo is simply too garish. Most of our trees are of northern provenance and should be cold hardy up to the middle elevations of the Catskills.
